Sue Hartley Photography
Hello and welcome to my website. I’m Sue Hartley – a long-standing photography enthusiast living in Farnsfield, Nottinghamshire.
My interest in photography began when I was around five years old (I still have the first picture I took at that age, taken with my dad’s Box Brownie) and I had my own first camera aged ten. As an adult I studied City & Guilds photography at Doncaster College, and gained distinctions in portrait, landscape, monochrome, architecture, close-up and still life modules. I switched to digital cameras in 2005, embracing the new technology and the fun and frustrations of Photoshop!
My aim is to make a portrait photo session easy and relaxed, whether this is at home, outdoors or in a studio setting. You may prefer formal or informal shots of the family, need records of special occasions or hobbies, or require publicity pictures for your own website or printed materials – whatever the event, we can discuss your needs and ideas and create pictures you can be proud of. Weddings, too, are happy occasions to be recorded to preserve wonderful memories, capturing the details of the day as they happen. Photographs can be presented in books, as a slide-show set to music to be watched on TV, or simply as a disc of files for you to view and select.
When not indulging my passion for taking pictures I also have an interest in restoring old and damaged photographs to keep the memories alive for some time longer. Family snapshots passed down from previous generations have taken on a new lease of life.
If you would like to have an informal, no obligation, chat about your ideas for photographs of your own event, or would like advice about restoration of a treasured picture, please get in touch via the contact page and I’ll be happy to get back to you.
